Responsibilities to include:
- Performing analyses of customer security needs and recommend, design, and implement secure server and network environments
- Installing, maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting servers, firewalls, networks, VPNs, and other security products
- Providing solutions to complex hardware and software problems
- Test LAN/WAN/WLAN security products: implement test plans, evaluate test equipment and design test networks, and aid in the development of automated test suites
- Effectively communicating security policy, technology issues and product capabilities through written documents to all levels of clients
- Keeping up to date with network security issues and products
- Completing education plans to grow your skills to match our clients needs
- Working independently on multiple projects in a range of customer environments
- Mentor other members of the team
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years experience in infrastructure/network environments, with some experience in network engineering (hardware and software); designing, planning and implementing LANs and WANs using the latest technology; and Cisco security solutions
Minimum of one year experience in programming or analytical work - Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Certified Novell Administrator (CNA) credentials (or current enrollment in one of these programs) a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of security specialty areas such as policy, disaster avoidance and recovery planning, technical investigations, firewall and host protection design, or risk analysis
- Five years of experience with planning, development, rollout and support experience for multiple architectures in technical and complex organizational scenarios
- Two years consulting experience preferred
- A thorough understanding of not only the industry, supplies, suppliers and customers but also competitors, partners and capabilities of the business will be required. Ability to identify threats as well as opportunities and trends
- A professional business attitude and courteous manner toward clients, partners, and co-workers
- Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet clients' needs
- This position may require travel, locally and nationally
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills which include demonstrated experience presenting technology recommendations from a business perspective
